"Mobland" is a larger than life but nonetheless watchable, Brit crime drama.
This series feels somewhat like a satire, of your British organised crime, figures. Thankfully, it's not overstated to the point of absurdity but its loud tones and predictable stereotypes, do tend to rob it, of certain, credibility.
Tom Hardy is as brilliant as ever, in the role of the chief family enforcer, fixer, whilst Pierce Brosnan hands in a competent performance, as the family's patriarch. Helen Mirren, who, to be honest, has never much impressed me, fits in well in the role of Brosnan's clever, calculating wife.
Thus far, there's nothing new on offer here but what is presented, is inherently watchable. Its well paced, with solid narrative, plots and sub plots.
In summary, I like "Mobland". Alright, its not new, yes its overstated but there's still a lot here that's intriguing and engaging enough, to merit, at the very least, a look.
